A Danish Tune

Todays topic is all about the music and to be more precise, about danish music. All the writer of this blog Three Weird Girls and danish and living in Denmark, and we often find it a shame that danish music is over looked, in the international music industry. That´s why we have decided to share some of our favorite danish artists with you guys.

Go Go Berlin started in 2011 and have over the past year become a relatively famous name in Denmark. Even though they have only published one album so far, more and more venues are booking the band and they have even gotten an amazing review in the danish music magazine GAFFA. So they are definitely worth keeping an eye on.

Go Go Berlin - Raise Your Head

Alphabeat is a danish band that has become a household name in Denmark, the rest of Scandinavia and Germany. They decided to move to England, where they managed to become a band that a lot of people knew and listened to in the UK. The female front singer, Stine Bramsen, even made out with Katy Perry - True story! Sadly Stine Bramsen chose to focus more on her solo career in 2013 and 2014, and we can´t help but wonder if the band will ever make another album, but that does not mean you shouldn´t listen to their awesome tunes!

Alphabeat - Heat Wave

MØ is one of the newer names in Denmark and she has decided to confront the music scene in a different way then some of the other female singers out there. By that we mean, many female danish singers are "pretty, adult-like, we keep everything nice", whereas the best way to describe MØ is by calling her the danish, female equivalent to Ryan Lewis.

MØ - Pilgrim

Oh Land is a danish female singer and her songs have been used a lot in American tv-series. She has had a lot of concerts in New York, so called her overlooked is maybe taking it to far, but we feel that she is so good, that more people should listen and buy her music.

Oh Land - White Nights

The next danish band has over and over again won the hearts of many people, at their concerts. Being one of the best danish live bands. They have existed for AGES and have a huge following of fans, us included - having seen them live three times already. They are known for their quirky name D.A.D. (Disneyland After Dark), colorful guitars and amazing personalities.

DAD - Sleeping My Day Away

The last one we feel mentioning is once AGAIN a female danish singer and she has won MANY awards already. She tends to win every year - it´s actually quite annoying. Her name is Agnes Obel, and her very fragile appearance, soft voice and slow songs has charmed people all over scandinavia.
