Fashi-Oscars

Posted by Unknown at Friday, March 07, 2014 0 comments
Once again, we hit it out of the park with the title :D

So the movie red carpet event of the year took place sunday night and we three weird girls were glued to the screen in order to make sure that we would see every fashion do and every fashion don´t.
However this year the fashion was a bit boring. We know that people should dress classy at the Oscars - right Björk? - but you can still manage to make the classy look more vibrant, with colors, accessories or puffiness of the dress. But with all of the stars rushing to the Oscars, we of course managed to find five outfits to our liking.
So here are our top five fashion outfits at the 86th Annual Academy Awards:

5. Charlize Theron
Wearing black at the academy awards can be very risky, because it might look to dark and gloomy for the event, however the actress Charlize Theron looked amazing in this black dress. The detail of the bottom part, with the see through fabric on top and the shoulder , with the see through plastic, that makes the dress look as though it is glued on her chest. Flawless! Her hair is kept very simple and we would have wished that Jennifer Lawrence would have done this hairstyle.

4. Kevin Spacey
Men are not often on our top five list, but as mention previously the style at this years Oscars disappointed us, but the men however came in outfits that excited us, which is why we have two men on our top five. Kevin Spacey is the first one. He wore a suit that was marine blue and pointy shoes, that suited him so well, that he look like he was in his early thirsty. Damn he was hot! The suit fit him flawlessly and he looked really comfortable in it.

3. Lupita Nyong'o
Once again Lupita is on our list, and she has really become a fashion icon. The unusual part of Lupita´s fashion choices is that she does not stick to just one designer. Throughout the entire award season she has wore a different designer to each event, but kept to the colorful dresses. This time wearing a wonderful light blue Prada dress, that swayed beautifully on the red carpet and up the stairs, when she won for best supporting actress. She is really new to the industry, but has already landed a contract with MuiMui and been talked about so much, that it feels like we have known her for five years.

2. Cate Blanchett
When we saw Cate Blanchett on the red carpet, we got really excited, because here was a woman who knows how to dress for the Oscars. Her dress was classy, but still funky because of the detail on it. The nude dress, with multiple stone detail on it, was shimmering beautifully as she went up on stage and grabbed her second Oscar. Her hair fit the entire look, and the very laid back makeup just finished the look flawlessly - have we used the word flawless a lot? :D

1. Jared Leto
The second man on our list, is Jared Leto. This years Oscar night was all Jared´s. Not only did he manage to photobomb almost every celebrity after the show, but he also won an Oscar and held the most wonderful speech. Plus he looked gorgeous though it all. The perfect long hair, with ombre effect, the perfect white jacket with matching red bow tie, or technically since it was red and the jacket was white they aren´t really matching, but they matched :D He looked rugged and classy and...well just perfect.

Oscar Chit-Chat

Posted by Unknown at Tuesday, March 04, 2014 0 comments
So I´m back after spending a week in London and leaving most of the blogging to my fellow mates. Luckily I made it back before the Oscars - YAY - and if you have read some of last weeks posts YOU KNOW, that we really wanted to see it, even though it in Denmark is shown on TV from 02 am to 06 am.

So todays post is of course also going to be about the Oscars and to be more precise it is going to be about our thoughts of this years Oscars - NOT a review, but mainly a small chit-chit between writer and reader - so feel free to tell us your thoughts about this years Oscar show.

First of all, love that we didn´t even get the show started, before Jennifer Lawrence managed to do something stupid again - tripping on a bright orange cone. The best part about it is, that she decided not to go down alone: "I´m gonna drag this bitch down with me" - talk about friendship.

I LOVE Ellen Degeneres, because she is naturally funny, she does not have to try and she is who she is. However, there were times, where the show became a little to casual. The "Diamonds are forever" part of the Oscars was missing, but Ellen managed to calm peoples nerves and help people become closer friends. She is definitely one of the better hosts. Not to mention that she managed to take/make the most re-tweeted tweet - That´s cool!

Throughout the show I did not get surprised by any of the winners. I guessed all of the winners except one, but what was really amazing was the various speeches. The majority of the speeches were really well written and brought out to the audience. The best ones, were Matthew Mcconaughey, Lupita N´yong'o, Cate Blanchett and Jared Leto.
One thing that made me smile...and hungry, was when Ellen came in with Pizza and pretty much all of them said yes to a slice...except Leonardo Dicaprio...that why you did not win the Oscar Leo, EAT THE FRICKING PIZZA!

Not to mention the dancing worthy performance of Pharrell. He came in with a happy spirit..haha did you get it "Happy" spirit, and made everyone dance from Lupita to Meryl. You know you´ve made it as a performer, when you can make Meryl shimmy...

All in all this years Oscars or should we say: The 86th Annual Academy Awards, was really good, after having being disappointed the past many years.

Flashback to the Oscars 2013

Here at Three Weird Girls, we are almost buzzing with anticipation. You could almost say we're vibrating with excitement over the upcoming Academy Awards. So in best warm up fashion, I thought it would be appropriate to take a little trip back memory lane. All the way back to the Oscars 2013.

And as always, the fabulous people are mentioned in a random order.

Jennifer Lawrence

It's no secret that we Three Weird Girls almost passed out with joy when we saw Jennifer arrive in this gorgeous Dior dress. The soft baby pink was such a lovely colour on her, and the classic simple updo was so fitting for her. And I especially loved her necklace, that went down her back. It was just so wonderfully different, and gave the whole ensemble an interesting feature.
This is clearly an outift that we'll lock back at with hearts in our eyes.

Amy Adams

Miss Adams has really made herself at home in our fashion beating hearts over the last few years, and she really hit it home at the Academy Awards last year. This powder blue, almost grey Oscar de la Renta dress is fit for a fairy tale princess (which Amy actually has played), and combined with (yet another) classic simple updo is just the icing on the cake.

Naomi Watts
Miss Watts was shining in this silver Armani dress, and with the special shoulder cut out, it was a sure hit with everybody.

Zoe Saldana
This dress from Alexis Mabille Couture made Zoe Saldana look even more like a goddess. The flow of the dress and the details around the hem, makes the dress stand out from the other simple fitting dresses at the awards.

Chris Evans
In the midst of all the pretty princess-y dresses, it's easy to forget the array of handsome men in suits and ties, but Mister Chris Evans is pretty hard to forget. Evans arrived in a snazzy black Gucci suit with a matching slim tie. For me personally, nothing beats a handsome man in a body fitting suit, and Mister Evans didn't disappoint.

Kristen Stewart
Not everybody is a fan of Kristen Stewart and her style, but personally I love it. I love that she doesn't really care about the critics wanting her to be more feminine and girly. But with this shimmering white Reem Acra gown, she showed people she could be feminine, but still maintain her personality. Her beauty look, consisting of coordinating red highlights and reddish eye makeup, was also stunning.

Sandra Bullock
Miss Bullock looked super glam in this slivery and halfway see through dress. It looked really lowkey but at the same time really classy, which is an art itself. And with the sleek straight hair it really was a beautiful outfit.

Amanda Seyfried
Seyfried looked absolutely amazing in this gown by Alexander McQueen. The special neckline is what sets this gown apart from the rest of the silver-ish dresses at the Awards. Also the flowery pattern is so feminine and lovely.

Louise Roe
Louise Roe is a fashion expert and it sure shows with this beautiful gown. It was a nice soft and feminine addition to all the dark and silvery dresses last year. Although I wish she would have done something more with her hair, but alas.

Eddie Redmayne
Chris Pine wasn't the only snazzy dressed male at the Awards. Mister Redmayne here also looked georgous in this slim ensemble.

Quvenzhane Wallis
Young Quvenzhane has more style than I could ever dream of, and she was only 9 years old at the time of the Awards last year. She is absolutely adorable in this dress, and it's also very age appropriate. It's something I would have worn when I was 10 and going to the Oscars. (If only).
