Gravity

So I always try to watch all the nominees for the Oscars, so I'll have a better chance at picking winner. Although last year, I only watched about 4 out of the 9, but ay. I at least watched the winner, and I loved that one. But this year, I've planned to watch 7 out of the 9. And as the title of this post informs you, I'm starting this Oscar party out with Gravity, because, well, it has the shortest playtime of them all.

Gravity is about Dr. Ryan Stone (Sandra Bullock) who is a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky (George Clooney) in command of his last flight before retiring. But on a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes. The shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalsky completely alone- tethered to nothing but each other and spiralling out into the blackness. The deafening silence tells them they have lost any link to Earth...and any chance for rescue. As fear turns to panic, every gulp of air eats away at what little oxygen is left. But the only way home may be to go further out into the terrifying expanse of space.

This movie, as a lot of reviewers have said, is really scary. Not in a horror movie way, like the boogy man is gonna come after you. But in a "god I never want to go into space, it's too freaking big and I will surely die". Space is scary as frick, man.
But yeah, if you like suspenseful movies with events that makes you realise how small and how big the universe is, then by all means go watch Gravity. My only regret about this movie, is that I never saw it in 3D, but then again, it would have made the whole thing 30x more creepy.

So, all in all I give Gravity;
4 out of 5 weird girls (and maybe even an Oscar for Best Movie?)

The flip FLOPS

Posted by Unknown at Friday, February 07, 2014 0 comments
So because there has not been any mentionable fashionista-red-carpet-worthy event since the last Fashion Friday, we have decided to make a top five of the worst dressed at the Golden Globes, SAG´s and the Grammy´s. We don´t talking shit about people - yeah right! - so we have decided to condense the flops to only 1 blogpost and to only mention 5 shitty dressers.

TOP 5 WORST DRESSED:

Julia Roberts
Unflattering, boring and crotch disaster is what sums up Julia Roberts at the Screen Actors Guild Awards 2014. When we first the "dress" we thought: it does not fit her very well. When she then uttered that the dress was actually a pants suit, we thought: What the hell where you thinking! The cut was f***ing ugly, not to mention in the crotch area, and the color was just plain boring.
If we had a time machine we would have send that outfit back to the 70´s, but on the other hand that would not be fair to the 70´s. One thing should be said about dear Julia, her body and face looks amazing for her age.

Sandra Bullock
A lot of fashion critics raved about Sandra Bullocks dress at the Golden Globes, calling it amazing and inspirational: We are just gonna call it as we see it: A big, wrinkly, colorful mess. The cut of the dress is actually very pretty and fits her body nicely, but the rest is just plain WRONG! The colors are wrong, the fabric is wrong and her shoes do not fit this look. This year Sandra has shown a different look than what she usually sports on the red carpet: some have been okay and others, like this, have just been wrong. We are really excited to see if she continues this new fashion streak at the Academy Awards.

Madonna
The Grammy´s are known for their funky fashion, however to Madonna´s look this year, we just have one word: NO! For the Grammy´s it was to boring and for Madonna it was not re-inventive enough. Madonna is known for creating new looks and style for every album she has created and therefore she has become known as a creative style icon. This look however does not show creativity and her makeup and hair just makes her look really old. We know she is becoming an older lady, but Madonna keeps trying to convince us, that she is no such thing - but at the grammy´s that did not succeed.

Paula Patton
Best known for being Robin Thicke´s very understanding wife Paula Patton decided to show up at this years Grammy awards in a dress that made everyone go: Zebr-AAAAHHHH! The cut is not flattering for her body and even though animal print is rather fashionable, taking it this far is not.

Kerry Washington
Even thought we love Scandal actress Kerry Washington this two pieces dress was not lovable. The dress was very suitable for a barbie girl doll, but not for a real life human being. The top itself was very pretty, but the bottom part was really unflattering and we know she´s pregnant, but honey that ain't not excuse.
