It´s SAGalicious

Posted by Unknown at Friday, January 24, 2014 0 comments
As mentioned in the previous Fashion Friday post, it´s award season, so you can expect A LOT of red-carpet fashion updates the next couple of fridays, ending the entire shindig with the 86th Academy Awards, aka the creme de la creme of red carpet fashion.
BUT enough about that, let´s talk about the latest red carpet event, the SAG awards, and for all you fancy people; the Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Last weekend our three weird faces, were glued to the screen in order to capture the top 5 best SAG red carpet looks for you guys. So here´s our top 5:

5 Lupita Nyong'o
Once again this beauty landed on our list of the best dressed and her dress was stunning. The turquoise color against her skin tone was just fabulous and it fit her like a glove. The flower/butterfly detail on her neck, was a nice touch to her subtle dress and it gave it that funky note, that a SAG dress needs.

4 Emma Thompson
Okay, so it might not be the best look of the evening, however we do have to give her points for her certain style. A lot of actors, as they grow older, get more boring on the red carpets, but Emma is not only funny, but dresses fabulously for her age. Not to mention the ahh-mahh-zing Louboutin flats.

3 Amy Adams
So it´s not because we want to repeat the Golden Globe top five, but Amy Adams, has once again landed in our top five, and her dress was even more stunning, then her Golden Globe dress. Come on Gurl, stop being so fabulous!
The blue-ish purple color and the cuts of the dress, was just to die for, and together with the classic up do, I mean, not even the Fashion Police could hate that.

2 Mindy Kaling
She´s bootylicious, she´s hot hot!
OMG, we at Three Weird Girls LOOOOOOVE Mindy Kaling. The Mindy Project is our series marathon favorite. So of course she landed on our top 5, however our opinion about the dress is a bit mixed. On one hand, the dress looks really flattering on her fuller body, and trust us, WE KNOW! how hard it is to find a flattering dress, when you are a plus-size woman. The color was also amazing, however a bit boring. The SAG awards is all about being a little funky and wearing a bright colored dress, or if you go with a darker color, do as Emma T. and pick one with a funky print.

1 Jennifer Lawrence
Jennifer Lawrence disappointed us a bit at the Golden Globes, but the Dior dress she wore at the SAG awards, was SO beautiful. However we are still missing the time she rocked a red dress, big boobs and long locks at the Academy Awards - where have the curves disappeared to gurl?
It´s no surprise that Jennifer chose a Dior dress, who can forget last year when she tripped on the Oscar staircase whilst wearing one - NO ONE, because it was plastered all over 9gag, reddit, facebook, twitter...etc, you get the point.
The color of the dress is a very safe color, but the sequins added a colored effect (red, green and blue) that was so funky, amazing, wonderful and last but not least - to die for!

*NOTE these best dressed are mentioned in a random order.

Shameless Promotion.

Wishes You Can't Afford

Hi guys! Lately I've been craving some new fitness/running gear for my workouts, though, I've been running into the same problem over and over again: It's too danm expensive! At least if you're Danish it is.. When living in America I had no problem finding discount fitness clothing from brands like Old Navy and Forever 21, not to mention that brands like Nike and Adidas are way cheaper over there in general.. Here in Denmark we have H&M's active line to choose from and even if you're lucky enough to live near one of those few Gina Tricot stores selling their active line, then boohoo! The whole freakin' gym are wearing the exact same thing because it's the only thing you can get for under £50! I'm just really mad about this topic! If you're looking to buy stuff over the internet when living in Europe, good luck! I've been searching like crazy and found many web sites with a gorgeous active line, but they're all located in America! Almost considered joining the designers out there, just so I can create awesome, beautiful workout clothes which doesn't cost my entire month's salary!
But.. I must admit I still from time to time fall in love with some of the expensive stuff, especially from Nike! That brand speaks my language. So I decided to show you guys, my top wishes if I were to become a millionaire. Some of them expensive as hell, others from the exotic land America where the shipping cost more than every Nike thing I ever wanted.

These Nike Free have been on my wish list for ages! I found an almost match when I was in The States, but
never found these babies. Sad face.. The two first photos from left are from a girl I follow on Instagram
and boy, she has some great running gear! Check her out here!

This jacket from Nike has been on my mind for some time now too. Stay safe in the traffic in the dark winter
with this beauty! But it is SO expensive I can't believe it..
Coming in at a shocking $350!

This baby right here is something I would looove to get my hands on! It's the Nike+ Fuelband SE.
Please someone give me this!
It measure your movements all through the day and most important, your workout.
You can connect it to your phone or your computer, set goals and let it tell you what to do.
It's not even on the Danish site yet, but it comes in at
  $149.

Victoria's Secret is all for the pretty workout clothes and I
would love to own one of their sports bras!

The American site ogorgeous.com they made a second shop called "blogilates"
where they make the CUTEST workout clothes I have ever seen!
LOOK at it! But the shipping prices are insane.

Blah Blah...Bulimia?

Last Friday Ke$ha announced on her Facebook page, that she was going to enter rehab, because she has an eating disorder...SAY WHAT! So as you can imagine, gossip magazines and social medias have been going viral with news and "get well soon" greetings to the songstress.

It seems like only yesterday we opened our gossip magazines and saw a really unflattering picture of Ke$ha in a bikini and thought "She´s one of us".
One of the reasons we girls love Ke$ha, is because she embraced who she was and said that you should love yourself no matter what, so to learn that she has been doing this (throwing up) to herself, was painful.

"I´m a crusader for being yourself and loving yourself but I´ve found it hard to practice. I´ll be unavailable for the next 30 days, seeking treatment for my eating disorder ... to learn to love myself again. Exactly as I am."  - Ke$ha

If you, like us, have been following Ke$ha´s instagram, you could clearly see the "Tik Tok" beauty getting slimmer and slimmer for every photo she uploaded.

One of Ke$ha´s instagram images 2013 and the beach image that helped trigger her eating disorder.

The slimming process became even clearer to us after watching her performance in her latest music video "Timber" with Pitbull. However, unlike many other eating disorder struck celebrities, it looks like Ke$ha, decided to take control of herself and her body, before it became too critical. Thumbs up for that!

Ke$ha in her newest music video "Timber"

Like many of the tweets Ke$ha has gotten from friends and fans, we here at Three Weird Girls, just want to say to Ke$ha, you looked amazing before and you are going to look amazing no matter what shape and size you are. Discard the haters and come back from Timberline Knolls (the rehab clinic) stronger and more confident than ever.

The Fall

Posted by Unknown at Monday, January 20, 2014 0 comments
First of all, sorry for this being posted so late, but I had some family time yesterday so I couldn't write it then, and  then today I had school and had to watch the movie before I could write this. So sorry about that.

For this Movie Monday, I've picked a movie I've been meaning to watch for ages, but never really got around to watch before. Until today, that is. And my god, it was totally worth the wait.
I'm talking about the 2006 movie The Fall by Tarsem Singh. I've never seen any of his work before, but I know he recently directed Mirror Mirror with Lily Collins and Julia Roberts. I'm gonna try and make it as spoiler free as possible, because this movie deserves to be watched without knowing much about it. (Which is also why I won't link to the trailer, because that is very spoiler heavy)
The Fall is a story about a five year-old little girl (Alexandria) with a broken arm, who befriends an injured stuntman (Roy) at a hospital on the outskirts of Los Angeles in 1920. He then begins to tell a fantastic story of five mythical heroes. Because of his wounded state of mind and the girl's vivid imagination, the line between fiction and reality blurs as the story goes on.
This movie is probably the most visually stunning movie I've ever seen. So many beautiful shots. The movie was shot in 28 different countries, so you can just imagine how many wonderful backdrops this movie has. And it is also so colourful, all your senses are going to be satisfied. Oh and the music! Beethoven's Symphony "No. 7 in A major, Op. 92, II. Allegretto" plays a great part in the movie's soundtrack, and it just takes the whole story to a new level. Even if you don't really care about the visual aspect and whole "artsy" movie thing, this movie will still make you feel something. Because the story is so human and so amazing, that you can't watch it and not care for any of it. And the acting! Oh don't get me started on the acting! I was absolutely blown away by the little girl, , who played Alexandria.
She was amazing. She was so adorable and believable in her role. You just felt with her. And I liked how real she seemed when speaking. It felt like she genuinely wanted to know about the story Roy was telling. Plus her broken English and Russian accent made her whole character perfect. And her relationship with Roy was adorable and heart breaking, because we as an audience know more about Roy and his current situation than she does, and it just makes the whole thing more heartbreaking.
Speaking of Roy. That Lee Pace, huh? I know I've already used the word "amazing" too much in this review, but god DAMN, he was amazing. He just knocked it so far out of the park, I'm not even sure it was in the park in the first place. His interaction with Catinca was so real and warm that it felt like they were father and daughter for real. And he displayed despair and loss and hopelessness so well. And man, that last scene with Alexandria? I was howling like a wounded animal and I was crying so much it hurt my chest. I legit had trouble hearing or seeing much because I was crying so loudly.

But don't get me wrong. This movie isn't all heartbreak and sadness. There are some light moments and laughs. And in the end the movie is all about imagination and imagining a better reality than the one you're in. At least that's how I see it. Well that, but also about unlikely friendships and letting go of the hard things.

So yeah. I kinda want to post more pictures, because I can't stress enough how beautiful this movie is.
So I'll leave you with one last one. One of my favourite shots of the movie, because it is so god damn adorable and just highlights the relationship between Roy and Alexandria, and why I think Catinca and Lee fits so well together.
So in the end, I give The Fall:
5 weird girls out of 5 (because I am completely blown away)

Golden Globe Fashionistas

Posted by Unknown at Friday, January 17, 2014 0 comments

...Yes guys, FASHIONISTAS, which means that the best dressed at the Golden Globe this years goes to the ladys. Not really a surprise, even though the gents looked Ahh-Mahh-Ziing as well.

We Three Weird Girls love the award season that has started, so we all know the next many Fridays are going to be about the best dressed at the various award shows, which includes Grammys, SAG, Oscars, BAFTA and MANY, MANY more.

However to todays blogpost is going to be about the fabulous dresses from the Golden Globes and there were many to choose from, but here are our Top 5:

5. Amy Adams
Like an angel the American Hustle actress swooped over the red carpet at the Golden Globes and captivated every fashionistas eye. The very form fitting dress, looked amazing on her body and it was nice to see her in a very subtle dress, that because of the color managed to scream "HELLO" to everybody. Not to mention she snagged a Golden Globe, so it was a win-win situation. Congrats Amy!

4. Emma Watson
Emma Watson caught everyones eye in the Harry Potter movies and has since really managed to captivate the eye of the fashion world as well, and who would have thought that pants would look so fancy on a red carpet. The dress could be called a reverse mullet, however that would be an insult, so we are just going to let the picture talk for itself

3. Lupita Nyong'o
Okay, so we at Three Weird Girls, could say that we are caught in the red period, because our number three also wears a red dress, but the dominant color at the Golden Globes this year was red, so it´s inevitable.
Lupita Nyong'o was on everyones lips, as she posed with style and grace on the red carpet. The long sleeves, also called wings, on her dress, does not fit everybody, but Lupita really rocked the look. You go girl.

2. Emma Roberts
Julia Roberts niece, and yes, we are still referring to her as Julia Roberts niece, looked feminine and grown up, at this years Golden Globe. Maybe the rumored marriage proposal, has done her good. On previous occasions, the all american beauty, has always worn clothes to young for her age and body. This year, however, she popped on the red-carpet, even though the dress is simple and black.

1. Kate Beckinsale
She bedazzled all the romantics in Pearl Harbor and won over all the nerds in the Underworld trilogy, and after the Golden Globes all the fashionistas added this beauty, to their guidebook.
From a distance the dress looks like a medium grey, metallic dress, but up close, the dress was even more captivating than that. The beaded detail, or maybe beaded is not the right way to explain the detailed work on the dress, looked amazing, not to mention the dress fit her, as though it was drawn on to her body.

January Favorites

Posted by Unknown at Thursday, January 16, 2014 0 comments

Because we think it's only fair, that our readers get to know us better, we thought it would be a great idea to create a monthly segment, about our favorites. So lets just jump right in to it.

Sindy's Favorites

Celebrity Style:
Currently I am aaaa-ddicted to the style of actress Elisabeth Olsen. Even though she has not been plastered in gossip magazines or fashion blogs lately, I still try to stay updated with the outfits she wears on a daily basis and on the red carpet. I really like her simplistic, retro style.

Makeup product:
Before you start your makeup rutine, you need to apply a good base. Many beauty blogger/vloggers always, ALWAYS apply Urban Decay's eyeshadow primer, and I agree that it is good, however this Christmas I got something better: Maybelline New York - 24hr Color Tattoo in 40-Permanent Taupe. It was a Christmas present, from my two best friends/co-bloggers and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE wearing on the days, where I have to rush out of the door. The only thing I need is that, eyeliner, mascara and than I have a foolproof makeup look for the day. Simple, light and it´s a shade for face shape and color.

Movie:
This month has more been a TV-series month for me, than a movie month, however that does not mean I can´t pull a fav movie out of my hat. And the award goes toooooo.....:  The Hobbit: the Desolation of Smaug. Although it was very long, I just love Peter Jacksons fantasy world (or technically it's J. R. R. Tolkien´s fantasy world, but Peter Jackson who visualized it, for us to lazy to read the books) and could disappear in for many hours a day, which is the only reason I would watch a movie that long.

TV-series:
My choice for favorite tv-series this month, might surprise you, however I have not stopped watching it for a second and yes, I have watched season 1 to 5 in only one month: it's RuPaul's Drag Race. I have always been a fan of Americas Next Top Model (ANTM) and Project Runway...Auf Wiedersehen...and RuPaul's Drag Race is a good mixture of both, but with more drama, makeup and bad clothes. It's Wonderful. The personality of all the participants, really wins you over, once you start watching it and the lip-sync-for-your-life part is priceless. So I only have one thing to say, Shante, you stay.

Annemette's Favorites

Book:
Oh dear. It's kinda hard to say one book, because I'm currently reading three. But I guess my favourite of those I'm reading now is.... Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. An oldie but goldie. It's my umpteenth time reading it, and it still holds up.

Movie:

Well, I've only seen two "new" movies this January. One was Desolation of Smaug and the other the Disney Channel Original Movie Lemonade Mouth. Two very different movies. So I'm gonna be a little cheat and go with both. Because both are really great, and make me happy.

Song:

"Let It Go" sung by Idina Menzel from the Disney movie Frozen. It's just so empowering man. Just try listening to it at full volume while thinking about all the people who's keeping you down. "Let the storm rage on, the cold never bothered me anyway!"

TV-series:
Since my precious baby has just returned to me this month, after being away from me since August, I will pick Teen Wolf. Aw yeah, that silly little mtv show about teenage werewolf's with the slow-mo and dub step music. That one. There isn't much I can say about this show other than just go watch it. Embrace the awkwardness of the first season and roll with it. Embrace it, dude, embrace it.

Nanna's Favorites

Beauty vlogger:
I am addicted to the weekly uploads from Leighannsays on youtube! This girl is brilliant, I tell you! Most beauty vloggers take their job very seriously, which is good, I know! But this darling dares to bring in those comic relief in her sometimes 15 minutes long videos! Plus she knows what's up with cheap makeup and cute nail art. Thumbs up!

From her Instagram http://instagram.com/leighannsays

Makeup product:
Don't know if it's truely under the category "makeup product", but I'll give it a shout out anyway. Nail polish! And not just any nail polish, I am talking very cheap, very reasonable for the price and great quality compared to the ones I use to buy. Maybelline's COLOR SHOW are my best buy this month! Going in at only £3,5! Of course, I bought all the sparkly ones. I mean, I had to!

Just some of the colors I bought

Movie:
Yeah, I haven't been to the movies in a really long time, so the movie I've chosen is really old! Ten years to be exact. I saw it the other night and I almost forgot how good it was! Drum roll pleas.. Mean Girls! I mean, better dialogues just doesn't exist! The one and only time I'll truely enjoy looking at Lindsay Lohan! Plus, no matter how mean Regina George is during the movie, I kinda still wanna be her.
