Kim & Kanye Wed!
This last weekend saw the long awaited wedding of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. The ceremony was held in Florence, and Kim wore a Givenchy gown for the occasion, and it was a gorgeous dress, I might add.
We wish the newly-weds all the luck in the future.

X-Men: Days of Future Past
Are you guys ready for me to cry and get all yelly about mutants? If yes, then read on, because this week's Movie Monday is about X-Men: Days of Future Past.
Okay, so for those of you who have never seen any of the x-men movies, then I would recommend you either skip this week, or get your butt down to the dvd store and buy all previous movies and get on it.
But if you're somewhat familiar with the mutants and their adventures, then I can tell you this new movie is about the X-Men sending Wolverine back into the past to desperate panic to change history and prevent an event that results in doom for both humans and mutants.
I guess before getting more into the movie, I'll just say that if you liked the previous X-Men movies, or just X-Men: First Class, then please do go see this movie. It is totally worth it. Really.
The rest of this review will be filled with spoilers for the movie and the old x-men movies. Because I can't talk about anything in this movie without spoiling it. So you've been warned.
Still with me? Good.
Now, I've only read about half of the comic that this movie is based on, and so far I've already found several changes. And the changes from the comics to the movie are for me fine, but then again I didn't read the comic back in 1981, so I don't feel any protection towards the storyline or anything. And the first major change I noticed was that they choose to put Wolverine as the person to go back into the past, and not Kitty Pryde like in the comic. And I totally understand why. First of all Kitty was portrayed by three different actors in the first three movies, and therefore was not a very prominent character and one that the regular movie goer would remember. So to suddenly make her the lead, and having to reintroduce her would just take up too much time. And time is a thing they don't have much of in the future timeline. So it was much easier - from a movie maker prospective - to go with the fan favourite Wolverine. And even with that they managed to make Kitty an important character as she's the one with the powers to send Wolverine back in time (in the comic, it's a mutant named Rachel Summers (daughter of Jean Grey and Scott Summers) that sends her back).
But enough about the comic and it's changes because the movie works just fine on it's own without you having read it.First things first, I'll say about this movie is that I had not expected to cry that much over it. I mean, I had expected to cry, because let's be real, I'm a major crybaby when it comes to movies (especially movies about mutants), so I wasn't that surprised. And the trailers did warn me about the emotional sea I would be diving into ("I don't want your suffering! I don't want your future!" haha no thanks). But hot damn on a tomato! It only took like the first opening lines about the humans slaughtering all the mutants and hunting them for me to shed my first tear. And then it was just downhill from there. I mean, every character basically had me crying over one thing or another? That autopsy picture of Angel? Yeah, no thanks I didn't need to see that. And then later her wing on display? Like how did they get it? Just ripped it off her? After she was killed? Before?
Yeah, just the whole thing about Charles and Erik accusing each other of abandoning the mutant race and each other was just too much. And do you know how hard it is to hide the fact that you're crying when you just want to lie down in foetal position and howl like a dying wolf? Not easy I tell you!
So I had kinda a hard time. But enough of me crying at everything, let's talk about Mister Bolivar Trask!
I actually liked this character even though he was supposed to be the "villain". But then again, I have a history of liking villains. Nevertheless, he was a great character, because he both feared and admired the mutants. Like, he wanted to study them to learn more about them (although his method of studying them would be better, if he just left them alive and did them no harm), and he appreciated them in a way. But at the same time he wanted to contain them and suppress them and keep them away from the humans. He's like those scientists who wants to keep the monster alive to study it, but also wants to kill it, so it won't hurt people. It's a complicated thing to want, but I think it makes for interesting characters. Because the whole ~conflicting morals~ is a favourite trait in characters for me. Which brings me to Erik and Raven (Mystique).
Oh these two. Both of them constantly going through emotional turmoil and change. Erik wanting not to necessarily do evil, but willing to do it if it helps the mutants. And Raven just wanting revenge over her dead mutant brothers and sisters, while still trying to maintain her slowly dwindling innocence due to her getting more and more reckless and violent in her methods. Or at least that's how I see these two characters in this movie. And I god damn love it.

Okay, right now at the moment my mind is pretty blank on other stuff in the movie, because it's still trying to repair the emotional damage it received while watching it. So for now, this will be the review, until I've seen the movie again this Friday. Then I'll come back to this review and finish it off properly.
Deal? Okay, great.

Cannes-y fashion
The most elegant film festival has arrived and we can´t wait to see the fashions that are going to strut the red carpet.
The weird thing about the Cannes film festival is that it is not only for people in the movie business, but fashion bloggers, musicians and writers are showing up, to be a part of the french festival atmosphere.
We would have loved to have been there as well, but sadly we have some studying to do. We can´t all be that blessed. Maybe next year.
But we can list our favorite outfits from the Cannes film festival and that we will do.

French Nougat
Ingredients
- 40grams pistachios, unsalted
- 150grams almonds
- 250grams sugar
- 125grams water
- 100grams glucose
- 125grams honey
- 75grams egg whites
- A little icing sugar
Steps:
Cook the almonds very shortly and poor the water away. Peel the almond shells off and roast the freshly peeled almonds and pistachios in an oven at 150 degrees, about 5 minutes. Let the nuts cool down.
Cook sugar, water and glucose in a sauce pan. Poor cold water in a bowl and "wash" down the edges of the sauce pan, with a clean brush. This helps prevent the sugar from crystalizing, which would later ruin the caramel. Wash down the sides about 5 to 6 times. NOT more than that.
Cook the caramel till it reaches 140 degrees, use a cooking thermometer. Add honey and cook it further, until it reaches 148 degrees.
In the meantime whisk the egg whites to a meringue. Then poor the still warm caramel mixture in to the meringue, a little at the time, while still whisking. Whisk the mixture until it is only lukewarm.
Scrape the mixture on to a baking mate and "knead" the nuts in to it. Then immediately put the mixture in a container, approx. 18x18 centimeters, and make sure it is lined with baking paper.
Let the french nougat cool at living room temperature until next day.
When taking it out of the container, sprinkle icing sugar on it and cut it in to nice square pieces with a very sharp knife.
Enjoy <3

Get Them Legs Moving
Happy Wednesday!
It is time for a workout! I'm gonna make this post about legs today. I know we've been around it a few times with the thighs and the butt, but it is my problem areas so we're going to see a lot of it. I have very strong legs and I leg press about 127 kg when I'm at my best, but my legs just won't show! There's still a lot of fat around them and I just can't seem to lose any of it! I know there are people out there with the exact same problem and then there's people out there with problem areas like their stomach or arms. Basically it is all the same. Three key ingredients - cardio workout, weight training and dieting.
Cardio workout is important when talking about our problem areas. Of course if you have skinny arms or legs and just want them toned, this is not a crucial element in your workout. But if you, like me, are haunted with a lot of fat, it is important to burn a lot of that. And lifting weights is going to get you a long way, but please keep in mind the process will be faster and better if you mix it up. So go run or ride a bike or hit zumba class a few times a week!
The pyramid in the upper picture is a great total workout for your legs. It is of course hard to lift weights when it comes to your legs so usually you're gonna use your whole body weight. Of course there's machines in the gym too, but if you're not a frequently gym user, this is much easier.
Good luck! <3
Say hello to little Hazel.
As we've mentioned before the lovely couple of John Krasinski and Emily blunt welcomed a beautiful daughter back in February. And now they're presenting the little bundle of sunshine to the world.
Look at this little cutie!
John Krasinski and Emily Blunt gave their fans a look at their adorable young daughter, when the former Office star posted the following photo online and wrote as a caption:
"Pics of kids should only come direct from parents. So I'm thrilled to introduce you guys to Hazel!!!"
She is totally adorable and is gonna grow up to be a beautiful girl for sure.

Godzilla
So for this week's Movie Monday I'm gonna talk a bit about a giant reptile, that since 1998 have held an important place in my heart.
Now, this movie has been on my waiting list for a while now. As soon as I found out they where making another Godzilla movie, I started vibrating with anticipation. Because, I love Godzilla probably a little too much for a girl my age. I don't know what it is, but since I saw the 1998's movie, I was blown away by this giant monster with the charismatic roar. Like for real, I get chills every time I hear it. And thus began my love affair with Gojira.
The plot for this 2014 version is in short about a Nuclear Plant supervisor Joe Brody (Bryan Cranston) who loses his wife (Juliette Binoche) in a devastating accident. He then spends his next many years trying to figure out what really caused the accident, and why the government is covering it up. And then other stuff happens, which may or may not include giant Praying Mantis looking monsters and our beloved friend Godzilla. It's really hard to describe the plot in somewhat detail without giving away most of the movie.
That aside, I was really pumped up to see this new version of Godzilla, especially his new look and roar. And I must say, as much as I loved his slim 1998's look, his new body in 2014 is totally awesome and very reminiscent of his first appearance in 1954.
Just take a look at his picture at the right, that first showed us how the new Godzilla design would look like.
Isn't' he beautiful? So majestic.
According to Gareth Edwards, the director, Godzilla's design is inspired by bears and Komodo dragons; his face in particular is influenced by the heads of bears, dogs and eagles. Edwards said the eagle "has a lot of nobility, it made him feel very majestic and noble.". And I can totally see the Komodo dragon in him!
The movie itself was very well done, the score by Alexandre Desplat was so good and had that old monster movie feel to it, and I love what cinematographer Seamus McGarvy did with the colours. He apparently for the 1950s scenes, wanted "a peeled look with muted colors and diffused highlights." So to do this, he shot those scenes with vintage 1960s camera lenses and additionally had the shades of black in those scenes digitally tinted in magenta. Which made it look so good. And I love muted colours, so it was candy for my eyes.
One of the things I both loved and disliked about this movie was that Godzilla himself doesn't get fully revealed until like an hour into the movie. Which means I was absorbing every little glimpse and mention of him for the first hour like a god damn sponge. But it also meant that I was just about to burst with anticipation when he finally showed his full form. And god was that amazing, I nearly cried. Actually I looked like Brock from Pokémon every time he saw Nurse Joy or Officer Jenny. Big ol' hearts in my eyes.
I don't know what more really to say without accidentally spoiling the movie. Because there's some really cool stuff that I want to talk about, but it gives away kinda important plot points. So the last thing I'll say is that when you watch it just imagine me as Ken Watanabe's character Dr. Ishiro Serizawa. He was also looking and talking about Godzilla like he was a God. And rightfully so. He was probably my favourite human character in the movie, because he understood and recognised Godzilla as the force of nature he was. That we shouldn't try to contain or kill him. We can never win against nature. Which he makes a point out of in this clip.
So all in all, great movie, really enjoyed it. My love for Godzilla knows no bounds, and grew x10 times with this movie.
Now go see it! GO!
