How The Times Have Changed...

Not the long ago, we wrote a post about where some of our teen idols from way back had gone, and late reading various articles about engagements, marriage, relationships, babies, well the list is long, have me thinking back to the good old days. However, even though many of the starts from my childhood have become older and hopefully wiser, many of them have actually also become more beautiful. Money must really be a nice asset when it comes to avoiding aging.
For your enjoyment, I have decided to pick out some of my favorite celeb transformations and most of them really don´t need any explaining.

Vampire Academy: Blood Sisters

So this is a movie I've been waiting to see for about a year now. Pretty much since it was announced it was gonna be made. I've read the first three books, and am in the process of reading the fouth at the moment. So I was totally ready to see it on Valentines Day this year, but then, the company responsible for it's release here in Denmark, decided that, based on the lukewarm reception and ticket sale of the American release, that they didn't want to release it here after all. Meaning, that I had to wait for it to be released on DVD. So I did. BUT NOW ONTO THE MOVIE! (I just wanted to share my pain).

Now, it's been about around a year or so since I've read the book, so only like the main points stand out in my mind when I think about it, so I can't tell you exactly if it's a 100% true to the books, but I think that's a good thing. (Especially after what I experienced with watching Divergent right after rereading the book)
First off, before I start babbling about the movie, I'm just gonna give a quick recap of the movie and what it's about if you don't know.

The movie is about  Rose Hathaway is a Dhampir, a bodyguard for her best friend Lissa, a Moroi Vampire Princess. They've been on the run, but now they’re being dragged back to St. Vladimir’s—the very place where they’re most in danger. St. Vladimir’s Academy is a boarding school where vampires are educated in the ways of magic and half-human teens train to protect them.

Our dear Lissa has to feed of Rose to survive.
The movie starts off great, following the book nicely, and moving at a decent pace. We are quickly introduced our main leads, Rose and Lissa and their friendship and current predicament. Thanks to Zoey Deutch who portrays her. She really gives Rose the spunk and sass she needs, but also shows us early on that in the beginning Rose is pretty much all talk no bite when it comes to real danger. She still has much to learn, our little warrior.

Lissa on the other hand, perhaps takes some time to like, but that's because when we meet her she is a troubled scared girl, who dislikes violence and just wants to fit in and stay low. But eventually she opens up and shows off a whole new side to her and you either like that side or not. I did, because I knew what was going on with her and could understand it. And I think even if I hadn't read the book, I would still feel that way. But besides Rose and Lissa the movie offers up another wide range of great characters. One of my favourite ones from the book was Natalie Dashkov, because at one point or another in our life, we've all been her. Just a little awkward and shy and wanting to be more.
And I like her cute attempts at optimism.
But another great character, that I had hoped to see more of, since I loved him the books, was Rose's friend Mason. But I guess he is more prominent and important to the plot in the second book. (so here's to a second movie!). He was just the right amount of friend to Rose but also the friend who is in love with Rose. I didn't feel at any time that we should pity him for linking a girl who just wants to be friends, or that we should hate Rose for "stringing him along" with hugs and kisses on the cheek. He seemed to have accepted that if he can't be her boyfriend, then he'd just be her friend and not make it weird for any of them. He just wants to be around her and be there for her when she needs it.
"Surely you have something more interesting to discuss than my ass?" - "Your boobies?"
And I just really liked that, because they've could have easily turned the whole thing into a typical love triangle, just because it is a teenage movie. And because some movie studios and writers have this crazy idea that young people love the infamous love triangle. (we don't). And then besides the friends of our main leads, we have the mean blonde high school girl, who appears in this movie in the form of Mia Rinaldi. And she was just as mean and evil as in the book. But like a likeable mean girl? Like, you understand why she's mean and I like when the villains have believable motives. And oh, then there's the love interests to our heroines Rose and Lissa.
The serious Dimitri Belikov with the glorious flowing hair.
The smouldering Christian Ozera with the amazing jaw.
They both have great chemistry with their romantic counterparts and I love how the romantic parts of the girls lives were not the important parts. Again, they didn't make the movie about boys and love. And gosh, did I love Christian and Rose bickering at each other, it just showed how much they both care about Lissa. And I also really liked that they actually cast someone who looks the part age wise. He looks just old enough for the age issue between Rose and Dimiti to feel realistic. And their age appropriate behaviour just furthers that point.

Funniest SNL sketches

I think I speak for all of us, when I way: WE LOVE SNL! For those of you who do not know what SNL stands for it´s Saturday Night Live. SNL has managed to entertain millions of us since 1975, or in our cases just since 1991...or, well we did not speak english in 1991, so let´s say since 2004...yeah that sounds good.
Netflix has given us the nice pleasure of being able to watch all of the episodes again, and again, and again. Since fall 2013 they change it, so instead of having episodes from 2000-2010, they now have 2010-2013.
Over the years many and many of the good stars have been exchanged and lately some of the best ones have also said goodbye and that they are not joining the newest season. With that in mind, we thought we would look back, re-watch ALL of the episodes and list our favorite SNL sketches.

My Favs

In my mind the best sketches are the ones where the cast members themselves can´t help but laugh. Most of those sketches happen to be with Kirsten Wiig. Wonder why! Not to mention all the Lonely Island inputs, that have managed to create their very own name.

It All Counts!

Hello guys!
Today I wanna talk about all the little shortcuts you can make in your everyday life to just get that extra kick. It's some pretty simple stuff, giving you some disguised exercise and now where summer is getting closer, the weather is helping us a lot! Enjoy!

1. Use your bike as transportation

There are a lot of people joining spinning classes or going for a ride in the sunny weather occasionally, but that's not what I'm talking about here. I'm talking about using your bike to get to work, to go shopping, when hanging out with a friend, going to the beach etc. Of course within reasonable distance - but if the weather's good, you can go a pretty long way without dying. If you ride your bike to work, let's say a distance of 3 or 4 km and you do this everyday, it is great exercise for you! No one says you have to beat a new record or anything, take it slow, put some music in your ears, enjoy the ride!

2. Take the stairs!

This is simple. Very simple. If there's an elevator and there's stairs, take the stairs. My ear doctor (bizarrely a place I visit very often) has both and it is such an easy choice to go in the elevator, I know! But arrive a little early and jump on those stairs! This can also be a place you cross when going to the bus stop maybe - just take some minutes to go up and get that puls up for a few seconds!

3. Be creative on your run!

You're going running? Getting a little bored from time to time? Wanna work those muscles too, but you're too tired when you finished your run? Fear not! There are a million ways to make that run a lot more fun! Use the bench in the park to do some exercises or whatever you can find!

4. Go for a walk!

This is a thing which I think is highly underrated! This is how I started to run. In the beginning where running seriously seemed impossible to me I started going for long walks. I powerwalked and slowly increased the pace for every walk. Then I started to run some of the way and it slowly turned into running in the end. If you're not a big fan of running or if you have injuries, of course a walk doesn't have to end up in running. It is a great way to clear your head and just get some fresh air. Move the legs a little. If you find it boring, put some music in your ears or bring a friend!

5. Motivate yourself!

Motivation isn't going to appear out of thin air, it's going to come from inside of yourself! You are the one creating the motivation, not anyone else. And there are plenty of ways to get it! I have a few favourites myself!
Put on some workout clothes. Doesn't matter if you're not going to work out, put it on anyway! Especially if you've had a bad day. Put it on! The prettiest outfit you have! With lots and lots of colors! Walk around in it. Eat in it. Watch tv in it. Feel comfortable in it. I feel I am a lot closer to a workout when the clothes are already on!
Buy some new workout clothes! I work out much better knowing I look good and that's a fact! Buy a fun water bottle, bright shoes and tiny shorts!
