Grammy Queens

Posted by Unknown at Friday, January 31, 2014 0 comments
This weeks fashion friday award season entry is all about the music industry fashionistas. The Grammy´s is all about quirky fashion statements, where people can show up in the weirdest style ever. An example of this this year, is the hat that has become viral after Pharrell decided to wear it.
At this years Grammys, it was all about the shine. Metallic dresses covered the red carpet and give the flash from the cameras a run for their money.
But of course, the Grammy´s mean that we three weird girls have found five favorite outfits of the evening.

5. Pharrell´s Hat
We know it may seem stupid to give our number five spot on the list to a hat, but for us the Grammy´s is all about wearing fashion items that make a statement. Save the glamorous dresses for the Academy Awards, Emmy´s or Golden Globes, because at the Grammy´s we want to see people taking (Lady) Gaga risks. So Pharrell´s hat, deserves a spot on the list, because that was the fashion item on everybody's lips.

4. P!nk
Here at three weird girls, we love P!nk as a musician and our own fashion guru has even been to a concert with her and was blown away by her performance. P!nk has often shown weird styles on the red carpet, so when we saw her in this shiny red dress, we all yelled "YES!". The bright red color grabs the attention and the shiny detail, gives the dress a fun look. The cut of the dress fits her trained body magnificent.

3. Ariana Grande
FINALLY not a pink dress! Ariana Grande wore a dress that had wild print and a glamorous design, which is what a Grammy dress is all about. That is why she lands on our spot number three. The dress is not a dress that has gotten a lot of positive attention, but we like it. However we did wish that she would cut her locks or just do something else with her hair, because it has become boring to look at.
The nude shoes, make her legs look like ballerina legs and that is a good thing, because the singer is not the tallest person in the world.
2. Katy Perry
Makeup = Perfect, Hair = Perfect, Dress = Divine!
Katy Perry´s style changes just as often as Taylor Swift´s relationships, and this time she nailed it. She looked gorgeous and the fun detail of musical notes on the dress, is a touch of perfection. The nude color matched her skin color like a dream and the layers of the bottom part of the dress, with the inside part being short and then covered with a long, see-through layer, was grammy worthy.

1. Beyonce aka Queen B
There is a reason her nickname is Queen B, because Beyonce really showed all the other musicians that night, who owned the red carpet. The dress itself needs no explanation because it was just pure perfection. Her makeup was amazing, from the red lips, to the silver eyes. Her hair looked a bit un-done, but the way she posed her body, showing confidence, even though it is not ages ago she gave birth. We bow to you Queen B, fashion favorite of the night!

The worst bird you'll ever meet

Posted by Unknown at Thursday, January 30, 2014 0 comments
Oh yeah. It's game time!

So yes, I'm gonna tell you all about a little bird named Flappy. He is gonna be your worst enemy. I mean, you're gonna absolutely hate him. Also he's gonna make you want to throw you phone into a wall.

The objective of this little game is quite simple and straight forward. You just tap the screen to make the bird flap his little wings, and you have to try to get him through the space between the pipes.
But this bird is so damn stupid, because he bounces so much between his flapping, that he can be a pain to control. I mean, I tried about seven times before I even got a score over 4.
But then, three hours ago, I hit the jackpot, and I was ecstatic.

BUT THEN! THIS HAPPENED AN HOUR LATER (yeah, I've played the game for about 4 hours straight, I'm sorry, I'm trash).

But I am now certain I will never achieve a higher score, and I should just retire from playing. It was nice while it lasted. (I'm lying, I'm gonna play it forever and ever. This is my version of candy crush)

So yeah, if you're interested in this hellish game, it's free and available through app store, and the android store.

And now, if you'll excuse me, I have a bird to kill multiple times by slamming it into the ground.

UPDATE: Today I got a score of 14, and I've never been happier.

Drop It Like A Squat

Hi guys!
Right, no more fun and games, we are going straight for the good stuff now! It is time to get in shape! Now, in the previous posts I've been helping you with the running, plus you have seen all the brilliant workout gear you can buy if you're a billionaire, but today we're gonna focus on one special part of the body. When you've been out running you should listen up - It is time to work that butt!

Squats, launches, kick backs etc. are very good exercises to do if you dream of a big, beautiful behind! I've found some motivating pictures for you and some photos demonstrating how to do the various exercises. The best thing about squats is the fact that it is SUCH a simple exercise. Number one rule: Never get your knees in front of your toes and always have the weight on the heels. Enjoy people!
Her knees are behind her toes!

All these beautiful pictures I found on Tumblr, the fitblr community is amazing!

Are they Twins?

So one thing we could talk about today could either be the break-ups, Josh Lucas and Jessica Ciencin, or secret marriages, Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux, but we feel like it's a bit "been there, done that". Not to mention that one thing we will definitely NOT talk about is all the fuss about Justin Bieber.
But because Justin Bieber has been in the limelight a lot lately, some other interesting and fun articles have been swirling around the internet. Something mentionable, you might ask? To that I have to say: Yes.
The canny likeness of two rather large pop icons, Miley Cyrus & Justin Bieber.
(epilepsy warning: flashing images)

Just five days ago, we came across an article on the website BuzzFeed, where two gifs of the two musicians are morphed together to show the likeness of the two.
Since that article, it has become even more clear to people that the two, rather shocking people, do look scary much like each other. So are they basically the same person?

We here at Three Weird Girls, think it is crazy how two singers can look so much like each other and not be in the same family. Common, even their teeth are the same!!
Take a look and decide for yourself.

How To Train Your Dragon

Posted by Unknown at Monday, January 27, 2014 0 comments
What? A movie without Lee Pace? On this blog? Amazing, I know.
For this Movie Monday, I chose a personal favourite of mine, a movie that's very dear to my heart. As the title of this post says, it's How To Train Your Dragon (2010). If you haven't seen it yet, I hope this post will inspire you to do so, and then you can be ready for the sequel coming later this year!

If you're not familiar with the story of the island of Berk and it's inhabitants, I'll fill you in. How To Train Your Dragon is the story of the young boy Hiccup, and his wish to fit in with the rest of his Viking village. He is a scrawny skinny and clumsy kid, who also happens to be the son of the mighty and strong Viking Chief Stoick. Their home, the village of Berk, is being attacked daily by dragons, and killing a dragon is the manliest thing you can do. So of course Hiccup tries his best to kill one, so he can make his father proud and not be an embarrassment.
And that's when the adventure begins. Because it seems like things are finally looking up for our dear Hiccup, when he catches a legendary Night Fury!
I'll not go too much into detail about what happens next, because you need to see it for yourself. But I can say that it is a heart warming tale of friendship and believing in yourself, even if you don't live up to the standard of the people around you. And it makes me cry several times through the movie, and it happens every time I watch it. And trust me. I've seen it a lot. Because everything about this cute little movie makes me emotional. The beautiful animation, the amazing voice acting, the fantastic story and then something I care a lot about in movies: the musical score. John Powell did some amazing work for this movie, and I'm quite sad he didn't win the Oscar that year. Which was also the year I wanted Hans Zimmer to win for Inception, but alas. To demonstrate how wonderful the music in the movie is, try listening to my favourite piece called "Forbidden Friendship". It's so light and full of hope and adventure, I really love it.
This movie not only have an adorable lead character in Hiccup, and a cute lovable dragon in Toothless, but it also have great side characters. You'll really come to love them all, and appreciate them. Which is why I'm gonna recommend you also watch the animated series Dragons: Riders of Berk, and Dragons: Defenders of Berk, before watching the sequel. Because since the sequel is gonna have a time jump of five years, the show fills in what happened in the time in between.

But really. I can't say much else without spoiling the great parts of this movie, so I'm just gonna leave you with a little cute (attempting to smile for the first time) Toothless, and push the dvd into your hands.
Seriously. Go watch it. Now.

So I give How To Train Your Dragon:
4.5 weird girls out of 5

(I promise, next week is gonna be a movie that's not 8 or 4 years old)
